New Brunswick Students *
Step 1: Pre-register through the EECD Parent Portal
Step 2: Book an appointment to show the following required documents.
1. Student’s Original Birth Certificate (with certified translation to English if needed)
2. Proof of address (purchase agreement, utility bill, lease agreement, property tax statement, mortgage document, bank statement, or insurance document)
3. Proof of immunization (records since birth with certified translation to English if needed)
4. Proof of Medicare or medical insurance (for the duration of studies)
5. Previous School Record (with certified translation in English if needed)
• K to 8 students – Report cards for the most recent academic year
• High School students – All report cards/transcripts from grade 9
• Any Individual Education Plan (IEP, PLP, etc.), Psycho-Educational reports and/or medical reports (if applicable)
6. Any other relevant documentation such as; a court orders involving guardianship, divorce, separation, kinship placement, Parental Consent to Travel or a custodial agreement, etc.
Student(s) must be physically in the province to register.

Overflow Procedures
The Student Welcome Centre (SWC) at the Anglophone East School District is responsible for handling admissions and registrations for various categories of students, including international students, newcomers, and transfers from other districts. The SWC ensures compliance with district policies and legal requirements while providing a seamless registration process for all students.
Procedures
1. School indicates it does not have space during the space enquiry process.
2. SWC references school list for alternate placement and requests transportation (if applicable).
3. SWC VP informs school admin team of placement.
4. Student is transferred in PowerSchool.
5. Family is made aware of new school placement.
6. School invites student to start school.
* Out-of-boundary applications are closed for the summer and will reopen August 1, 2025 for kindergarten, grade 9, and special circumstances.
1. Application Process:
► Digital Application: Parents or guardians requesting an alternate school placement must complete a digital request form available on the Anglophone East website.
► Submission: The completed digital application will be automatically sent to both the inbound and outbound request schools, directed to the respective principals.
2. High School (Grades 9-12):
► Deadlines: Semester requests must be submitted by April 30th for Semester 1 and by November 30th for Semester 2.
► Notification: Decisions will be communicated to families by June 1 for Semester 1 and by December for Semester 2.
3. Kindergarten – Grade 8:
► Deadlines: Term requests must be submitted one week prior to the end of each reporting period:
Term 1: September – November
Term 2: December – April
Term 3: April – June
4. Conditions for Approval:
► Transportation: Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s transportation.
► Capacity: Schools at maximum capacity will not accept out-of-boundary students.
► Class Size: No class will exceed its maximum capacity due to out-of-boundary students.
► Reapplication: Students must reapply each school year. Approval is for one school year only.
► Sibling Applications: Siblings must apply through the same process.
► Term Stability: Students should remain in their current school until the end of the term or semester to avoid interruptions.
5. Decision Process:
► Consultation: Requests involve consultations with district and school administrative staff.
6. Superintendent’s Discretion:
► The Superintendent may place students in specific schools for educational reasons.

Home Schooling
Registration process for home-schooled students:
1 . Please send application forms to [email protected].
2 . District staff will process the application and send to the Department of Education, Early Childhood Development.
3 . A letter from the Minister of Education will be mailed to the parent/guardian.
Transfer from NB Francophone School Districts
Step 1: Parents / guardians wishing to transfer into the Anglophone East School District (ASDE) meet with the principal of the Francophone School District (DSF) school to sign the School District Transfer Request form. Both parties (DSF Principal and parents) sign the application form.
Scan the completed document and email to the Student Welcome Centre email [email protected].

Step 3: Notification
Parents / guardians will be contacted once the School District Transfer Request process is complete. The student’s file is then transferred to the new school, if approved.

Returning to Anglophone East School District
Former students who meet any of the above criteria and want to re-enrol after withdrawing from ASDE must re-register at the Student Welcome Centre (SWC).
We need to review their Medicare and immunization records and to confirm eligibility for a provincially funded education in New Brunswick and ensure all academic records are updated.

The Student Welcome Center is located in Hillcrest School. The entrance for the Student Welcome Centre is accessible off the parking lot beside Hillcrest School. The entry for the parking lot is off St. George Blvd. (between the school and the gas station, directly across from Sky Zone Trampoline Park). The doors, located on the parking lot side of the school, will be locked. Please press the buzzer to be let in for your scheduled appointment.
